Priyanka Chopra Is Set To Star In SS Rajamouli's Project
SS Rajamouli teams up with Mahesh Babu to start production on SSMB29 featuring Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the co-leading role.
A source acquainted with the film's development, reports that Mahesh Babu and Priyanka are performing workshops for SSMB29 at a Hyderabad location. The two stars dedicated their energy to workshop sessions which included reading the script and appearing for a look examination since they participate in this joint project with excitement.
“Priyanka Chopra’s addition to the project has undoubtedly elevated the film's star power and talent pool. It’s going to be bigger and better. She last appeared in an Indian film several years ago, and nothing could be more significant than this venture. The director and the actress were in discussions for six months before finalizing her involvement in the film,” revealed the source.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas visited temples in Hyderabad to seek divine blessings during her recent visit. She made the journey from Toronto Canada to work in the Mahesh Babu film in India before the planned April production start date this year.
Mahesh Babu's upcoming film SSMB29 would be divided into two parts which position it among the most anticipated Indian cinematic releases. The dual cinematic adventure follows characters across the globe through jungle sequences while promising audiences an entirely new rendered experience.
Production on the two-part film project will finish in 2026 ahead of its anticipated box office release in 2027 and 2028.
On the other hand, superstar Mahesh Babu was last seen in the lead role in the film Guntur Kaaram, directed by Trivikram Srinivas. The 2024 flick marked the actor and director’s third collaboration, following hit ventures like Athadu and Khaleja.
The action-drama tells a story about a son who attempts to reconnect with his mother after she left him behind as a child. The film documents their relationship recovery process after they spent many years apart.
