Here Are The List Of Five Bollywood Movies Based On War!

Bollywood Industry has made many movies based on the stories of war. There are many beautiful Bollywood movies that have portrayed the Independence stuggles and some movies have showcase the sheer power, glory and strength of Martyrs. These patriotic Bollywood movies  has made us all feel proud of our country and it's soldier. It has beautifully reflected the glory of our soldiers. Here are the list of some Bollywood movies based on war.


1. Uri: The Surgical Strike:

Directed by Aditya Dhar starring Vicky Kaushal and Yami Gautam as the lead of the movie. Uri: The Surgical Strike was released in theatres in 2019, the film is based on the Indian Army's strikes on Pakistan in 2018, following the true events of the retaliation of 2016 Uri attack. The surgical strike was conducted by Indian army against the four heavily armed terrorists who crossed the Line of Control (LoC), broke through the heavily guarded military camp carrying AK-47 rifles in North Kashmir’s Uri town of Jammu and Kashmir and launched a massive grenade attack. In the attack, 18 soldiers were killed and more than 30 were injured. 



2. Kesari:

Helmed by Anurag Singh, Kesari movie starring Akshay Kumar in lead is a true story of our brave Martyrs. The story is based on the events leading to battle of Saragarhi, a battle which was fought between the British Indian Army and Pashtun tribesman. In which 21 soldiers of the 36th Sikhs of the British Indian Army fought a battle against 10,000 Afghans in 1897. This battle is considered as one of the most heroic battle in the history.



3. Shershaah:

Helmed by Vishnuvardhan starring Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani in lead is biographical war movie based on the life of braveheart Captain Vikram Batra. The movie was released in year 2021. He was an officer of the Indian Army and had played a crucial role for India's victory during the 1999 Kargil War in Kashmir between India and Pakistani. Vikram Batra was just 24 when he was killed in the battlefield. The movie also depict the heroism of Batra's fiance Dimple Cheema who spent her rest of the life as a widow of martyred Vikram Batra.

4. LOC Kargil:

Helmed by J P Dutta the movie was released in theatre in 2003,The film is based on  the Indian Army's who successful Operation Vijay that was launched in May 1999 in the wake of the Pakistani intrusion and occupation of the strategic heights in the Kargil sector to flush out the Pakistani intruders from the Indian side of the Line of Control (LoC).



5. Border:

Border is directed by J P Dutta and the movie was released in theaters in 1997. Border is one of the most watched and popular war movies of Bollywood. Multi-starer movie Border is based on the Battle of Longewala, it covers the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.
