Diljit Dosanjh Replace Alcohol Lyrics With This

Recently, Diljit Dosanjh created a lot of free publicity for Coca-Cola when he changed the words to some of his songs he was singing to exclude references to alcohol. Punjabi singer replaced words like ‘daaru ‘ with Coke while performing in Hyderabad to obey the order that Telangana state do not allow him to sing any song which encourage alcohol, drugs or violence.

According to the order, Diljit replaced “5 tara theke” with “5 tara hotel” and “daaru ‘ch lemonade” with “Coke ‘ ch lemonade” during his performance in Hyderabad. Same with other lyrics – they were changed too, to the delight of social media followers and the singer himself who was laughing while singing ‘Coke’.

The decision to change lyrics not only led to Diljit Dosanjh gaining humongous publicity but also a lift for soft drink Coca- Cola.

Coca-Cola also responded to the video which was shared on the “teamdiljitglobal” Instagram page.

The song ‘Pehle Lalkare’ lists three things that the singer wants to do. Coca-Cola added a fourth task to the list - “Chautha kaam twade gaane japne (fourth task is worshipping your songs),” the official Instagram account of the soft drink company in India wrote in the comments section of the Diljit video, adding a smiley face and heart emoji.

Diljit Dosanjh, however, has criticised Telangana government highlighting the double standards, saying foreign artists are allowed to get away with these things while Indian artists face restrictions after a notice sent to the singer.
