One of the most intriguing astronomical occurrences that drives scientists to learn more is the Blood Moon.  Also referred to as the total lunar eclipse, it is scheduled to take place on March 14, 2025.  When the Sun, Earth, and Moon line up such that the Moon enters Earth's shadow, this is known as a lunar eclipse.  On the other hand, during a total lunar eclipse, the umbra—the darkest region of Earth's shadow—encloses the entire Moon.  The Moon is known as the "Blood Moon" because it appears reddish-orange when it is in the umbra.

Blood Moon Time In India

At 9:27 AM IST, the eclipse will start, peak at 12:28 PM IST, and terminate at 3:30 PM IST.  Since the eclipse takes place during the day when the moon is below the horizon, it will not be seen from India.  In North and South America, where the complete eclipse will last more than 65 minutes, the best views are anticipated.  On the other hand, this event will be live-streamed on social media for those who enjoy celestial events.  In addition, a full lunar eclipse that will be visible nationwide is anticipated by Indian scientists for September 7-8, 2025.
