The Bark is a pet friendly resort. Not only the staff but also the owners put a lot of efforts to make the place pet friendly. They even host the pool parties but not for the people, but rather for the pets.
When we had a word the owner, Ritu Chadha about her idea behind incorporating animals in every corner of the place, she said,
"I love animals. It was not a very conscious thought but every painting or showpiece I picked up usually would have some element of animal stuff in it. I am an avid bird watcher too since the lock down but the hotel already had a lot of bird artefacts so I guess the bird watching part was a natural affinity."
The place gives a very cozy and warm home like vibe rather than giving a formal feel. It has unique artefacts which gives it a artistic touch.
The hotel is also quite artistic and appreciates art and artists. They have various artworks, paintings and artefacts places across the hotel. All of these artworks are original pieces and some have been imported from various parts of the world, while others have been from local artists to show them support and encourage their art. The artistic vision can be seen throughout the hotel, as you wander through the space.
For all the foodies who don't know , The Bark serves all variety of food. From Chinese,Tandoor and Continental to most loved street food like Vadapav, Maggie, Misal, they have it all !
The Bark is a family venture and has been running across generations, and passed from one generation to another, but unlike like most businesses, it is not passed on to sons, but rather passed on to their daughters.
Talking about the idea behind passing on the business to the daughters rather than the sons, Ritu mentioned,
"My daughters are no less than sons and are doing a brilliant job of running the place. They need guidance sometimes but are more or less independently handling the show. They teach me a lot too. This organization is fully managed by women and we are trying to incorporate more women in our workforce too."
The hotel is also quite inclusive, allowing all kinds of people, from couples to people from the LGBTQIA+ community, without invading anyone’s privacy.
