The Indian Premier League has been one of the biggest sporting events all around the world since its inception. The counter-attacking batsmen of the shortest format have been creating innovative ways of smashing sixes along with a numerous record of hitting the longest sixes. - Albie Morkel – 125 Meters
The South African all-rounder who used to be the regular member of Chennai Super Kings smashed a 125-meter six against Pragyan Ojha in the inaugural edition of the tournament. Ojha’s length ball disappeared in the long-off region, it’s been 14 editions since that six and the record is yet to broken.
- Praveen Kumar – 124 Meters
Praveen Kumar has been an unusual name in the list of hitting sixes. The most shocking fact about this record is that the tail-ender smashed such a huge six to the Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga in the 2011 edition of the tournament.
- Adam Gilchrist – 122 Meters
While playing for Kings XI Punjab in 2011, Adam Gilchrist smashed a 122-meter six against Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Charl Langeveldt. It’s been a decade since the Aussie legend hit that monstrous six and it still remains the third-longest six in the IPL history.
- Robin Uthappa – 120 Meters
While playing against Chennai Super Kings in 2010, Robin Uthappa smashed a thunderous 120-meter six against Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s most trusted bowler Dwayne Bravo. That ball landed outside the stadium and the record remains intact.
- Chris Gayle – 119 Meters
A list of sixes with Chris Gayle is incomplete, the Universe Boss hit a huge 119-meter six to Ali Murtaza while playing against Pune Warriors in the 2013 edition. The ball was dispatched out of the Chinnaswamy Stadium in the mid-wicket region.
