As the government has given a green light to open theaters from 15th October onwards, many production houses and filmmakers, whose films were halted due to the pandemic situation, have started announcing the release of their next project.
The first Bollywood film to get a theater release, Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, starring Manoj Bajpayee, Fatima Sana Shaikh and Diljit Dosanjh which finally completed 10 weeks run at the box office, minting Rs 4.06 crore.
Hollywood films kicked-off the winter season with the much awaited Wonder Woman 1984 which went on to collect Rs 3.37 crore in Hindi language. The Hindi dubbed Tamil action flick starring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi sprung a surprise with a solid Rs 2.96 crore. Christopher Nolan’s Tenet which went onto collect a solid Rs 2.18 crore in Tenet in Hindi language.
The Kiara Advani starrer Indoo Ki Jawani could not make much impact in its first weekend at the box office due to the limited screens. The comedy drama went on to collect a decent Rs 1.14 crore.
Tom And Jerry re-introduced to the audience in live animation movie was released in India on 19th February and did pretty good with Rs 65 lakhs in Hindi language.
