There were two significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Bobby Deol, Kajol and Manisha Koirala starrer Gupt and Imran Khan and Genelia D’ Souza starrer Jaane Tu.. Jaane Na. Let us check how the films fared at the box office.
Directed by veteran Rajiv Rai, the man behind blockbusters like Tridev, Vishwatma and Mohra, Gupt was a perfect who-done-it thriller thanks to the superb direction, engaging storyline and performance by Bobby Deol, Manisha Koirala and Kajol who challenged herself and stepped into an unknown territory for the first time as she played an obsessed lover with negative shades in Gupt. She even won the Filmfare award for the best villain role. Songs like “Duniyo Haseena Ka Mela” and “Mere Khwabon Mein” composed by Viju Shah and penned by Anand Bakshi helped the movie turn into “Hit” at the box office, collecting Rs 18.11 crore against a budget of Rs 9 crore.

Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na (2008)
The debut film of Imran Khan and Prateik Babbar, Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na also had Genelia D’Souza and Manjari Fadnis playing key roles. The rom-com flick had beautiful score composed by the legend A.R.Rahman which included “Pappu Can’t Dance” and “Kabie Kabie Aditi Zindagi” for which lyrics written by Abbas Tyrewala.

Produced by Aamir Khan, Jaane Tu..Ya Jaane Na collected a solid Rs 55.62 crore against a budget of Rs 15 crore.
