Dear Zindagi (2016)

Directed by Gauri Shinde, who struck the chord with her first film English Vinglish, Dear Zindagi was heart-warming and refreshing take on life. There were moments from the film that will be cherished and enjoyed for simple and brilliant execution along with powerful performances. Talking about the performances, it was Alia Bhatt’s show all the way. The gorgeous actress has probably given one of the best performance of her life as Kaira which is something similar to her character Veera from Highway. Shah Rukh Khan amazes you being the second lead to the film. His performance is strong enough to keep you glued to the screen. Background score adds further charm to the beautiful film along with tuneful songs from Amit Trivedi.

Dear Zindagi opened to a wonderful response both critically and commercially. By the end of its run, Dear Zindagi turned out to “Hit” at the box office, collecting Rs 68.45 crore against a budget of Rs 30 crore.

Two good looking men pairing with hot actresses for a complete masala entertainer packaged with foot-tapping music was Desi Boyz. Unfortunately, the first time director and also son of David Dhawan, Rohit Dhawan, did not do much to the direction area and the script which could have driven this movie to be a big hit. It turned out to be an “Flop” at the box, collecting Rs 42.41 against a budget of Rs 54 crore.
