Directed by veteran Vidhu Vinod Chopra, 1942- A Love Story was a powerful patriotic drama which had a good storyline, beautiful musical score and electrifying performances.

Anil Kapoor, Manisha Koirala and Jackie Shroff were praised for their electrifying performance in 1942-A Love Story which collected Rs 7 crore against a budget of Rs 4.75 crore.
