There were four significant Bollywood films which were released today in the past years – Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom, Hrithik Roshan starrer Mohenjo Daro, Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Saif Ali Khan, and Deepika Padukone starrer Aarakshan, Aamir Khan starrer Mangal Pandey. Mangal Pandey (2005)
When you have talents like Aamir Khan, A R Rahman , Ranu Mukerji and Ketan Mehta working under the same roof for a powerful biopic drama, Mangal Pandey, your expectations soar high. Unfortunately, Mangal Pandey, fell flat on the face as the biopic drama was not received well by the audience. Mangal Pandey opened to a record-breaking opening but crashed later collecting just Rs 27.86 crore against a budget of Rs 37 crore.
After the success of Rajneeti, Prakash Jha came out with a concept of controversial policy of caste based reservations in Indian government jobs and educational institutions in Aarakshan. Though the attempt was good but the audience did not give thumbs up to the Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Bajpayee, Saif Ali Khan, and Deepika Padukone starrer, which collected Rs 41.89 crore against a budget of Rs 53 crore.

Rustom Vs Mohenjo Daro (2016)
Remember the gigantic clash between Dilwale and Bajirao Mastani in 2015. Next year, Akshay Kumar starrer Rustom clashed with Hrithik Roshan’s Mohenjo daro at the box office. Akshay“ Khiladi” Kumar played the role of Naval Officer K.M. Nanavati in Tinu Suresh Desai‘s biographical thriller drama Rustom which took the better opening over Hrithik Roshan starrer. Also starring Illeana D Cruz and Esha Gupta, Rustom ended its theaterical run with Rs 127.49 crore against a budget of Rs 50 crore.
