The debut film of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who won the heart of the audience with his beautiful and musical film, Khamoshi, starring Salman Khan, Manisha Koirala, Nana Patekar and Seema Biswas. Enduring performances, superb songs and enthralling cinematography were the highlights of the musical drama which, unfortunately, tanked at the box office with Rs 6.89 crore against a budget of Rs 7 crore.
Mujhse Dosti Karoge ! (2002)
Another director who made debut on this day was the former film critic, Kunal Kohli, with Yash Raj Films production, Mujshe Dosti Karoge, starring Hrithik Roshan, Rani Mukerji and Kareena Kapoor. Considering the star cast and high production values, much was expected from the Mujshe Dosti Karoge. However, due to poor direction, lame screenplay and loose performance, audience gave it a thumbs down. The romantic love triangle managed to collect Rs 12.94 crore against a budget of Rs 13 crore.
Jabariya Jodi (2019)
Sidharth Malhotra And Parineeti Chopra were last seen in Hasee Toh Phasee (2014), which was directed by Vinil Mathew and turned out to be success at the box office. Much was expected from Jabariya Jodi, which was based on pakadwa vivaah (kidnapping the groom and forcibly getting him married) tradition
However, the romantic drama failed to impress the audience which collected Rs 18.85 crore against a budget of Rs 30 crore.
