Delhi Capitals today beat Kolkata Knight Riders and collected another 2 points, 10 in total to retain the top spot in the points table. With the likes of opening duo Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan and planned bowling performance Delhi turned the match one side.
Earlier, Delhi won the toss and chose to bowl first seeing the conditions at Narendra Modi Stadium. Capitals’ bowling unit completely choked the Kolkata batters as spinners Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel took 2 wickets each while Delhi’s emerging star Avesh Khan and Stoinis took 1 each.
Ishant Sharma and Rabada remained wicket less but controlled the pressures situation. Andre Russell in the last two overs succeeds to score some big shots, hit 4 sixes and 2 fours, he missed the half-century by 5 runs.
In the second inning Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan completely dominated the KKR bowling unit as they scored 132 runs together, another successful partnership by this duo this year. Prithvi Shaw in the very first over scored 25 runs with 6 fours. Stoinis scored the winning shot while Rishabh Pant too hit some big shots.
