Europe has always been known for its high density of cultural and historic sites, some of the most famous ones being the Vatican Museum in Italy, the British Museum and the Louvre in France.

The continent does offer these world-known attractions. However, you can also find some more hidden gems worth taking a detour. One of the best examples is the little country of Bulgaria, based in Eastern Europe. A plethora of galleries, museums, historic towns, and archaeological await your arrival. Besides, Sofia, the capital of Bulgaria, will soon be home to the most significant private museum in Eastern Europe.

You will have the opportunity to experience art, history, culture, and technology in a brand new way when visiting the unique ‘Vassil Boikov Museum.’ The plan is to renovate the Telephone Palace in Sofia to host a myriad of contemporary paintings and displays and extraordinary archaeological findings.

With high hopes of becoming ‘The Bulgarian Louvre,’ the ‘Vassil Boikov Museum’ will also host a variety of lectures, featuring holograms and 3D artifacts, which are set to enrich people’s knowledge of Bulgaria’s antique treasures and historical events. The museum will also be the first in Bulgaria to have specialised laboratories, which will be equipped with modern technologies to help experts restore artifacts with high precision.

Why is this project so unique?

The main attraction, decided by the NGO ‘Thrace Foundation’ owner, is to be the most prominent private archaeological collection of Thracian treasures with over 3000 artifacts.  Another reason why the future museum will bring a unique experience to visitors is that you will able to quickly expand your historical knowledge with ultramodern, interactive, digital sets.

But many people don’t usually give a second thought to what else there is to see. Especially small countries like Bulgaria can sometimes be neglected, even though this part of Europe is undoubtedly one of the oldest established territories in the world and offers the same amount of excitements as some of the most popular destinations. With the development of this unique private museum in the capital of Sofia, the largest in Eastern Europe, Bulgaria won’t be missed on the map from the curious ones for its art, culture, and history.
