In the 52nd match of the Indian Premier League, Royal Challengers Bangalore will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Sharjah at Sharjah Cricket Stadium at 7:30 PM IST. RCB is at the second position on the points table with 14 points while SRH on the other hand has acquired the seventh position with 10 points.
RCB had 12 games till now out of which they won seven and lost five, SRH also had the same amount of game, they were victorious five times while lost seven games. The Virat Kohli-led Bangalore will be entering into this match with a comprehensive loss at the hands of Mumbai Indians in their previous match. RCB’s opener Devdutt Padikkal has been impressive in his debut season with his consistency. With the presence of Virat Kohli and AB de Villers in the middle order strengthens the batting line up. Shivam Dube, Chris Morris and Washington Sundar provide a deep batting line up for the team. The spin duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Sundar have been quite economical this season. The veteran Dale Steyn, who is Navdeep Saini’s replacement has been leaking runs and went wicketless in his previous two matches is alarming for the Bangalore team.
After having a clinical win against Delhi Capitals, SRH would be stepping into this game with confidence. Jonny Bairstow was replaced by Wriddhiman Saha and took full advantage of the opportunity by scoring an attacking 85 off 45 balls which helped SRH to go past 200 runs on the scoreboard. Hyderabad’s team has been highly dependent on the top four batsmen, Warner, Saha, Manish Pandey and Kane Williamson. The bowling department of the 2016 IPL winners has been an integral part of the team’s victory this season. Rashid Khan has been a star with the ball for Warner’s Hyderabad. Apart from Rashid, Sandeep Sharma, T Natarajan and Vijay Shankar have been able to restrict the batsmen in the middle overs and back end of the innings.
Kohli and his team are waiting with 14 points and need two points to book their playoffs berth. Warner and his men will play a do-or-die game and will be aiming to win this match to stay in the playoffs qualifying race.
