"I hope I never leave (Barcelona), I want to be a legend at Barca," the 17-year-old stated during the popular show 'El Hormiguero' on Antena 3, a private Spanish television station. The winger, who celebrated his 17th birthday in July, played a significant role for Spain as they secured a record fourth Euro title in 2024, making him the youngest player ever to compete and score in the tournament's history.

At Barcelona, he is hailed as the most thrilling youth academy prospect, drawing comparisons to fellow La Masia alumnus Lionel Messi.

"Being compared to the greatest of all time is amazing and indicates I'm on the right path, but I focus on being myself and hope to be remembered for who I am," said Yamal.
