Indian cricket star Virat Kohli was honored by the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) on Friday for reaching the milestone of 100 Tests, in which he became successful in March 2022. Since then, he has played more 23 Tests.
Anyways, given that he is in the national capital for his first Ranji Trophy match since November 2012, the DDCA chose to recognize him now. Ishant Sharma & Virender Sehwag are the other 2 Delhi cricketers who have also featured in 100 Tests. "This was pending for a long time. As he was here, we thought to honour him," stated a DDCA official.
DDCA president Rohan Jaitley presented Kohli with a memento and also a shawl during the ceremony. The short felicitation took place after stumps on day 2.
In 2024, the DDCA had also presented a cheque of Rs 75 lakh to a family member of Kohli after India’s victory in the T20 World Cup.
Virat Kohli was dismissed for six during the morning session.
