Bravo Retires From CSK
Recently one of the most dangerous all-rounders of modern T20 cricket Dwayne Bravo has bid adieu to his cricketing career. He was last seen donning the Gill-Marcondes & Partners logo to represent the Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL 2024.
Bravo is always orated as the team’s versatile powerhouse; the big man of the team could do everything. Enigmatic death-overs bowler and his efficient lower middle-order batsman are surely distinctions that point towards him. The Trinidadian cricketer’s name is associated with so many great escapes for the teams he represented. Dwayne Bravo was a regular player of Mumbai Indians from the years 2008 to 2010 and played an energetic part in the Indian Premier League.
Finally in the Mega auction of 2011, Chennai Super Kings bought him. He was in that team up until 2016 when the team was suspended for a couple of years. When CSK returned back to IPL Bravo was re-acquired and he played crucial role in the teams successful title runs in 2018 and 2021. Bravo is serving CSK as a bowling coach for the last couple of years. There were expectations that Bravo should stick with the team as a coach after his retirement. But to the surprise of many, the Knight Riders bought Bravo and offered him the position of a global mentor.
As IPL 2025 mega auction is round the corner Dwayne Bravo may approach few more players in the CSK team for the KKR squad. The young Indian pacer was drafted in the CSK team for IPL 2022 season. For instance, in his three-year career with the team, Rajvardhan Hangargekar only got to feature in two games. Hangargekar has had the rhythm and is a very handy hitter lower down the orders. Bravo might add the young talent to his fold and prepare him and mould him for the future.
