Two of the finest captains in Indian cricket history, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni, have both led the national team to ICC titles. Dhoni boasts three ICC trophies from his tenure, while Rohit recently secured his first during the T20 World Cup 2024.

Over the past year, Rohit's leadership has seen a remarkable rise, particularly in how he has guided his team. However, choosing between the two is a challenging task, especially for someone like Shivam Dube, who has played under both captains.

Dube experienced Dhoni's leadership while playing for Chennai Super Kings in the IPL, whereas he has primarily played under Rohit for the national team. During a recent appearance on Kapil Sharma's comedy show, Dube was posed with the question of selecting one captain over the other. His response was insightful.

"When I'm playing for Chennai, MS Dhoni is the best; when I'm representing India, Rohit Sharma is the best," Dube stated, leaving everyone, including Kapil Sharma, surprised. Rohit, also a guest on the show, discussed the high-pressure situation during the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa.

He remarked, "They had plenty of wickets in hand and a set batter at the crease. We were all anxious and tense. At such moments, a captain must maintain composure to reassure the team that there’s no need to panic."

Rohit elaborated, "Anything could have unfolded on that wicket. We lost wickets while batting, formed a partnership, then lost more wickets. We anticipated that their batting order could collapse similarly since they were relying on their seventh batter. We needed a wicket urgently, especially with Klaasen and Miller at the crease."

He noted that it was during this critical moment that Pant suffered an injury, and the break in play allowed Team India to disrupt South Africa's rhythm.
