India captain Rohit Sharma is facing a lot of criticism regarding his leadership in the ongoing 3-match Test series against New Zealand. During the second Test in Pune, several cricketers questioned Rohit's tactics, particularly his field placements, as New Zealand swiftly extended their lead to over 300 runs on Day two.

The criticism became intensified on Day three when he dropped an easy catch in the morning. This incident occurred in the 2nd over of the day off Ravichandran Ashwin's bowling, where a full delivery outside off produced an outside edge from Glenn Phillips.

The ball went past Rishabh Pant's gloves and went straight to slip. Rohit, however, failed to react because it zipped past him. Ashwin’s expression was one of disbelief as Rohit let the easy catch slip away. Meanwhile, the Indian spinners struck quickly, bowling out New Zealand for 255 in their 2nd innings on the 3rd day of the Test on Saturday.

Despite this, New Zealand established a lead of 358 runs, setting an intimidating victory target of 359 on a deteriorating Pune pitch.
