R Ashwin poised to break historic test records!

Ravichandran Ashwin excelled with both bat and ball,  leading India to a commanding 280-run victory over Bangladesh in the first Test of the series.

The 38-year-old scored his sixth century, making 113 runs, and then claimed six wickets in the second innings, matching the legendary Shane Warne for the second -most five-wicket hauls in Test cricket history. As the second Test in Kanpur approaches, Ashwin stands on the verge of achieving six significant records. Let’s explore the complete list.

1. First Indian to Achieve 100 Wickets in Fourth Inning        Ashwin is already the top  Indian wicket-taker in the fourth innings of Test matches. By taking just one more wicket in this scenario, he will become the first Indian and the sixth bowler overall to reach 100 wickets in the final innings.         
2. Leading Wicket-Taker in India vs. Bangladesh Test Series                                                                                     
   Ashwin needs only three more wickets to surpass Zaheer Khan's total of 31 wickets, making him the leading wicket-taker in Test matches between India and Bangladesh.                                                                                                          3. Top Wicket-Taker in the World Test Championship (WTC) Cycle 2023-25                                                             
   If Ashwin takes four more wickets, he will reach 52 and surpass Josh Hazlewood as the leading wicket-taker in the current WTC cycle.                                                                                                4. Second-Most Five-Wicket Hauls in Test Cricket History
