India's Preethi Pal captured a bronze medal in the women's 200m T35 category with a personal best time of 30.01 seconds on Sunday (September 1, 2024), marking her second medal of the Paris Paralympics.
The T35 classification is designated for athletes with coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia, and athetosis.

On Friday (August 30, 2024), she secured India’s first athletics medal in a Paralympics track event by winning bronze in the women’s T35 100m race with a personal best of 14.21 seconds. The 23-year-old Preethi’s bronze was also India’s second para-athletics medal at the Paris Games.
Since the 1984 Paralympics, all of India’s athletics medals have been earned in field events.
