Indian badminton star PV Sindhu is poised to lead India as the flag bearer at the Paris Olympics 2024. The announcement was officially made on Monday, July 8, by PT Usha, President of the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). Previously, Indian boxing icon Mary Kom and men's hockey captain Manpreet Singh had the privilege of being India's flag bearers at the Tokyo Olympics 2020. This time, it is the turn of the renowned Indian badminton player to receive this prestigious honor.
PV Sindhu, the prominent badminton player, will lead India as the flag bearer alongside table tennis star A Sharath Kamal at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics.

The decision appears incredibly fitting, given PV Sindhu's unique achievement as the sole Indian athlete to win individual Olympic medals twice (silver at Rio Olympics 2016 and bronze at Tokyo Olympics 2020). Nonetheless, PV Sindhu will not stand alone in carrying the flag at the Games; table tennis veteran Sharath Kamal will join her as co-flag bearer.
