International Olympic Day is observed on 23 June every year which represents making the world a better place through sport. The International Olympic Committee was founded at the Sorbonne in Paris, where Pierre de Coubertin rallied the revival of the Ancient Olympic Games on 23 June 1894.
Noting this day, let's revive some amazing sports players who presented our India with all dedication and made us all proud by winning several medals.
K.D. Jadhav
Khashaba Dadasaheb Jadhav was a freestyle wrestler, the first player from India to win an individual medal and best known for winning a bronze medal at the 1952 Summer Olympics in Helsinki.
Balbir Singh Dosanjh
Not one or two but a three-time Olympic gold medalist. Balbir Singh is an Indian hockey player and coach, who played a key role to make our country win at London, Helsinki and Melbourne Olympics.

The weightlifter Karnam Malleswari is the first Indian woman to win a medal at the Olympics 2000, she was honoured with India’s Arjuna Award in the year 1994, including the country’s highest sporting honour Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 1999 and also the fourth-highest civilian Padma Shri award.
