She managed to match her personal best of 88kg, which is also a national record, on her final snatch attempt. Despite this, Surodchana Khambao also lifted 88kg, resulting in both lifters being tied for third place by the end of the snatch round. For context, Mirabai had lifted 87kg in the snatch round at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Mihaela Cambei led the snatch round after a successful 93kg lift on her final attempt, having previously lifted 89kg and 91kg.

Hou Zhihui of China, who set an Olympic record of 94kg in the snatch at Tokyo 2020, could only manage 89kg in Paris and failed in her attempt to lift 93kg on her final try.
