After yet another undefeated streak in an ICC tournament, India has advanced to the T20 World Cup final, marking their first appearance since 2014 and their third overall. They aim to avoid a repeat of their fate in the 2023 ODI World Cup. India, who last clinched the T20 World Cup title under MS Dhoni in 2007, will face unbeaten South Africa, who are in their inaugural final of an ICC tournament. However, rain may prove crucial not only for determining the toss but also for the match outcome itself.

Rain has intervened multiple times during this tournament, with India's semifinal against England earlier this week nearly in jeopardy in Guyana before the weather relented. Rohit Sharma's team then confidently secured a victory over England, avenging their semifinal defeat in Adelaide during the 2022 T20 World Cup to advance to the final. However, the highly anticipated showdown against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, on Saturday might be impacted by thunderstorms.

According to Accuweather, the Saturday forecast indicates: "Overcast skies, decreasing winds, and muggy conditions with scattered thunderstorms likely." A detailed breakdown for the day shows thunderstorm possibilities from 6 to 8 AM, with precipitation odds at 51 percent. This suggests a potential delay to the scheduled 10:30 AM local time start of the match. Rain chances diminish to around 30 percent later in the morning with cloudy conditions prevailing, though there's a renewed risk of thunderstorms between 1 and 2 PM.

If rain forces a washout on June 29, Saturday, the match will be rescheduled to the ICC's designated reserve day on June 30. According to ICC playing regulations, "every attempt will be made to finish the match as planned, potentially reducing overs if needed. Only if the minimum required overs cannot be bowled on the scheduled day will the match be moved to the reserve day."
