Gujarat Titans spinner R Sai Kishore made his debut in the 20th over of the 1st innings against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, by marking just the third occurrence of such a situation in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Sai Kishore was called upon to bowl in the last over of the first innings for his initial spell of the match.

He became only the 3rd spinner to achieve this feat in the lucrative league, by following former Sri Lankan great Sanath Jayasuriya & Mumbai Indians veteran Rohit Sharma. Jayasuriya was the first to do this when he bowled the 20th over for the Mumbai Indians against Rajasthan Royals in Durban in 2009. Rohit followed suit in the year 2010 while playing for Deccan Chargers against Mumbai

After Fifteen years, Sai Kishore etched his name into this exclusive list. In his single over of the match, Kishore effectively controlled Delhi Capitals' scoring & took the crucial wicket of the aggressive Ashutosh Sharma.

He allowed just 9 runs in the over and hindered DC's efforts to surpass the 210-run mark. On the 2nd-to-last ball, Kishore bowled a flatter delivery to tempt Ashutosh into going for a big shot. He remained not out at 97(54), ensuring GT came out victorious & reclaimed its position at the top. Sherfane Rutherford, who was introduced as an impact substitute, contributed majorly with his 40(30).
