The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has officially announced on Tuesday that the legendary Wankhede Stadium will be the venue for Season 3 of the eagerly awaited T20 Mumbai League 2025. This league, considered as one of India's premier domestic T20 franchise competitions, is set to kick off from May 26 to June 8, according to the MCA's press release. The T20 Mumbai League serves as an important platform for upcoming talent, with the goal of identifying the next wave of cricketing stars.
In its first 2 seasons, the league showcased the emergence of players such as Shivam Dube, Tushar Deshpande, and Shams Mulani, establishing new standards in Indian domestic T20 cricket. As a special initiative, the MCA will extend invitations to underprivileged children & students from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools by allowing them to experience the exhilarating matches during the 14-day tournament featuring eight teams.
"The T20 Mumbai League has been a game-changer not just for cricket in the city, but also for Indian cricket. The last two editions saw several players impress with remarkable performances and make their mark on the national stage. Watching star players live is incredibly inspiring for the next generation, and we want to use this opportunity to bring underprivileged children and BMC school students to the stadium, encouraging them to get inspired and dream big," stated MCA President Ajinkya Naik as quoted by a press release.
