Actor Song Joong Ki recently honored the late Lee Sun Kyun during his appearance on MBC Radio FM4U’s A Perfect Day with Lee Sang Soon. While promoting his latest film, Bogota, Song took a heartfelt moment to remember the beloved actor.
During the broadcast, Song selected “Grown Ups,” a track from the OST of the K-Drama My Mister, as one of his favorite songs. Explaining his choice, he shared his deep admiration for Lee Sun Kyun and expressed how much he misses him.
“This is an OST from the drama My Mister, which many people love. I really wanted to play this song for everyone,” Song said.
Song revealed that he recently started rewatching My Mister, a series that holds special meaning for him. He noted the timing of the broadcast, which was close to Lee Sun Kyun’s death anniversary.
“I recently started rewatching the K-Drama, and in a few days, it will also be the death anniversary of my beloved hyung, Lee Sun Kyun. I miss him so much,” he shared.
Song’s admiration for Lee Sun Kyun was also evident earlier this year at the 29th Busan International Film Festival. The late actor was posthumously awarded the Korean Cinema Achievement Award, and a tribute video showcased his most iconic works, including My Mister and Land of Happiness.
During the tribute, Song Joong Ki, along with fellow actors Lee Hee Joon and Ha Yoon Kyung, was visibly moved, struggling to hold back tears.
Song’s emotional words and actions reflect the enduring impact of Lee Sun Kyun’s work and the deep bond they shared.
