South Korean actress Kim Yoo Jung recently opened up about a harrowing experience from her childhood, where a stalker attempted to abduct her by pretending to be her father. The incident occurred during her elementary school years, a time when she was already gaining fame as a child actress.
In an episode of SBS's "Strong Heart," Kim recounted the unsettling event:
"When I was in elementary school, there was a strange man who claimed to be my father. My teacher said that the man came to pick me up."
Fortunately, her teacher acted promptly. Upon noticing the unfamiliar man and confirming with Kim that she did not recognize him, the teacher contacted the authorities, preventing a potential abduction.
Kim's early career began at the age of four, leading to roles in popular dramas like "Iljimae" and "Grudge: The Revolt of Gumiho." Her performance in "Moon Embracing the Sun" earned her multiple awards, solidifying her status as a prominent child actress.
Despite the challenges of early fame, including encounters with overzealous fans, Kim continued to thrive in the entertainment industry. She transitioned smoothly into adult roles, starring in projects like "Love in the Moonlight," "20th Century Girl," and "The 8th Night." Her recent work includes the SBS drama "My Demon" and the upcoming TVING series "Dear X."
