In a heart-wrenching turn of events at the Starfield shopping complex in Anseong City, tragedy struck as a woman lost her life in a bungee jumping accident. The incident, which occurred in the late afternoon around 4:20 PM, has cast a sombre shadow over the local community and left the family of the victim, identified only as Mrs. A, grappling with profound loss.

Mrs. A, a woman in her 50s, was engaging in a bungee jumping activity at "Smob," a sports experience facility located on the third floor of the Starfield mall. What was intended to be a thrilling but secure adventure took a devastating turn when Mrs. A fell approximately 8 meters (about 26 feet) onto the unforgiving concrete floor below.

Initial investigations suggest that safety protocols were ostensibly in place, with staff stationed both at the top and bottom of the bungee apparatus. However, a critical failure in the safety equipment, notably an unsecured carabiner, proved to be fatal. Despite donning the necessary safety gear, the failure of this crucial component led to Mrs. A suffering cardiac arrest upon impact. Although immediate CPR efforts were administered and she was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, Mrs. A tragically succumbed to her injuries approximately an hour after the incident.
