The Complete Actor Mohanlal's Enthralling 'Drishyam' Becomes First Malayalam Film to be Remade in Hollywood

The iconic Malayalam film Drishyam, directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Mohanlal, is set to make history as the first Malayalam film to be remade in Hollywood. The film, which has already been remade in several languages including Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Sinhalese, and others, has garnered immense success and acclaim worldwide.

The news of Drishyam being remade in Hollywood was shared by industry tracker Ramesh Bala, who took to social media to announce the grand adaptation of the mystery thriller. According to Bala, producers Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak have partnered with Panorama Studios, Gulfstream Pictures, and JOAT Films to bring Drishyam to Hollywood audiences.

The Hollywood remake of Drishyam marks a significant milestone for Indian cinema, showcasing the global appeal of Malayalam cinema and the impact of films like Drishyam on an international scale. The film's success has also led to the acquisition of international remake rights for Korean and Indonesian versions, further expanding its reach.

The Drishyam franchise has been a massive success since its inception, with the original Malayalam version released in 2013 receiving widespread acclaim. Subsequent remakes in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Sinhala, and Mandarin Chinese have further solidified its status as a cult classic.

Mohanlal, who has been instrumental in the success of the Drishyam franchise, is currently busy with his upcoming projects. He is set to star in L2- Empuraan directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, and will also make his directorial debut with Barroz: The Treasure of D'Gama, slated for release on March 28. Additionally, he has commitments with Jeethu Joseph for a thriller drama film titled Ram, which will be released in two parts.
