‘Aavesham’ actor Fahadh Faasil opens up about the ADHD diagnosis at 41

Recently, South Indian cinema star Fahadh Faasil revealed that he was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the age of 41.

During the inauguration of the Peace Valley School in Kothamangalam, a rehabilitation centre for children with special needs, Fahadh Faasil confessed that he has been clinically diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) at the age of 41.

The actor said that while walking around the school, he asked a doctor whether it was easy to cure ADHD, "He told me it can be easily cured if it is diagnosed at a young age. I asked whether it can be cured if it is diagnosed at the age of 41. I am clinically ADHD diagnosed". Fahadh’s diagnosis and confessions has shed light on the disorder and can help start a discussion about the same.

In his speech at the Peace Valley School, Faasil highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. He also talked about the benefits of ADHD for creativity, pointing out that many in the arts and other fields have benefited from the irregular thought processes of the disorder.

ADHD is a neurodevelopmental disorder, symptoms of which are inattention, hyperactivity, hyperfocus, and impulsivity. ADHD is usually detected in childhood, at early stages but is also common in adults.

Fahadh Faasil was last seen in the action film, ‘Aavesham’  which was critically acclaimed and also turned out to be a blockbuster.
