Bollywood star and global fashion icon Sonam Kapoor attended the London Fashion Week yesterday, for the Spring 2026 Ready-to-Wear showcase by British-Turkish designer Erdem Moralıoğlu at the British Museum. It was a moment to remember as the fashion mogul marked the occasion with a personal gesture of advocacy, sporting a custom Erdem gown with intricate Godawan bird motifs.
The Great Indian Bustard, lovingly known as the Godawan is now a Critically Endangered Bird on the IUCN Red List and the gown carrying intricate Godawan bird motifs in deep cobalt blue artwork seamlessly blended Indian heritage with contemporary couture, paying tribute to the extraordinary recovery of the Great Indian Bustard population — from 100 when the initiative began to protect the birds to 173 today through the efforts of Diageo India.
