Weekend starts on a sad note with Tamil actor Vivek passing away after suffering from cardiac arrest.
Legendary actor Vivek who entertained us in more than 200 films with his brilliant comic timings , suffered heart attack on Friday morning and was admitted to the hospital in Chennai in the Intensive care unit. His condition worsened which was followed by cardiac arrest. Vivek was 59 years old.
The moment news of Vivek’s death poured out, the Tamil movie industry was in state of deep shock. Vivek was introduced in films by director K. Balachande and has won 3 Filmfare Awards for Best Comedian – Tamil at Filmfare Awards South for his performances in the movies, Run (2002), Saamy (2003) and Perazhagan (2004) and 5 Tamil Nadu Star Film Awards for Best Comedian for the films, Unnaruge Naan Irundhal (1999), Run (2002) Parthiban Kanavu (2003), Anniyan (2005) and Sivaji (2007). Vivek has acted in more than 220 films.
A R Rahman tweeted, “can’t believe you’ve left us ..May you rest in peace ..you’ve entertained us for decades ..your legacy will stay with us.”
Vivek was last seen in Dharala Prabhu, which was the Tamil remake of the Hindi film Vicky Donor.
