Jiang, a 21-year-old from Zhejiang, China, has turned his love for Crayon Shin-chan into a massive project. After taking over his family’s sheep farm, Jiang spent over a year securing exclusive licensing rights for the anime in China, which required five trips to Shanghai. His dedication culminated in building a life-size replica of Shinchan’s iconic red-and-white brick house.
Construction of the house began in July 2024 and required specially designed materials, pushing the total cost to ₹3.5 crore (approximately $400,000). Jiang’s mother supported him financially, making his dream a reality. Covering about 100 square meters, the house is almost complete and is set to open for fans as a photography and cosplay destination.
Crayon Shin-chan, created by Yoshito Usui, debuted as a comic in 1990 and has since become a global phenomenon. Known for its humor and relatable characters, the series has entertained audiences for over three decades. After Usui’s passing in 2009, the series continued under Yoshito Usui & UY Studio, ensuring Shinchan’s legacy thrives.
Jiang’s project is a testament to the lasting impact of Crayon Shin-chan. With plans to expand his creations, he’s giving fans a unique way to connect with the beloved anime.
