Shah Rukh Khan is being nostalgic; remembers Saroj Khan and says “My first genuine teacher in the film industry”

Veteran Choreographer Saroj Khan took her last breathes on Friday, July 3. She passed at the age of 71. The nation mourned the death of three-time national award winner Choreographer. Social media is flooded with the condolences message for her family. People are sharing throwback images and videos.

Bollywood celebrities too are sharing their memories with Saroj Khan. Her career span is of four decades in which she has worked with several Bollywood bigwigs. Shah Rukh Khan also shared a heartfelt note. remembering Saroj Khan. He wrote, “My first genuine teacher in the film industry. She taught me for hours how to do the ‘dip’ for film dancing. One of the most caring, loving & inspiring persona I have ever met. Will miss you Sarojji. May Allah bless her soul. Thank u for looking after me (sic).”

Saroj choreographed the song Baazigar O Baazigar of Shah Rukh’s 1993 film Baazigar. Her old video is going viral, where she is sharing details of how she taught Shah Rukh his signature pose which has become the iconic style of the actor throughout his career. She said, “We were shooting Baazigar in Mauritius. He (SRK) takes the name of land and sky, there’s a back shot and he opens his arms. Then he turns and reveals the name on his chest by opening his shirt. I gave him this action there.”

She died of a cardiac arrest she got a burial at a cemetery in Mumbai’s Malad by her family at 7 am on Friday. Saroj was not keeping well from some time. She was admitted to Guru Nanak Hospital in Bandra last Saturday after she complained of breathing issues. May her soul Rest in Peace.
