Rajkummar Rao, Janhvi Kapoor and Varun Sharma horror comedy flick, Roohi, was the first major Bollywood release today post COVID-19
This Day That Year Box Office : When Badrinath Ki Dulhania And Malamaal Weekly Were Released On 10th March
The makers of Roohi were marketing the horror comedy as a sequel to 2018’s smash hit Stree. Looking from the trailer perspective, Roohi was able to generate quite a interest thanks to its quirky dialogues, comic act and foot-tapping songs. Roohi got an advantage as it released on the special occasion of Maha Shivratri which witnesses a public holiday across India and will have 4-days extended weekend to mint some money.
The advance booking of Roohi had already started on Sunday and the current trend is decent. The advance booking was dull till Tuesday but picked up on Wednesday with 16500 tickets already sold at the national multiplex across the country.
The horror comedy drama got decent reviews from the critics but as per BoxOfficeIndia.com, the morning show response has been good, though we are waiting for the final figure. Roohi can get an opening of Rs 1.5-2 crore on its first day which is still encouraging considering the situation is still reviving but a lot will depend on the word-of-mouth reviews.
