Though Roohi could not get good reviews as 2018’s smash hit Stree, the trailer and the promotion of Roohi was able to generate quite a interest thanks to its quirky dialogues, comic act and foot-tapping songs. Roohi got an advantage as it released on the special occasion of Maha Shivratri which witnesses a public holiday across India and will have 4-days extended weekend to mint some money.
The advance booking of Roohi which had already started on Sunday was dull till Tuesday but picked up on Wednesday with 16500 tickets already sold at the national multiplex across the country. There was lot of spot booking when Roohi released yesterday at the theaters.
The horror comedy drama got mixed reviews from the critics but as per BoxOfficeIndia.com, the morning show response was good while the collections grew over the evening and night shows making Roohi to get an opening of Rs 2.5-2.75 crore on its first day which is encouraging considering the situation is still reviving. This is the best opening post COVID-19 beating Wonder Woman, Tenet and Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari.
