The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has filed a chargesheet in connection to the drugs case, which emerged during the probe into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. NCB chief Sameer Wankhede has confirmed to ETimes that the chargesheet has been filed. When asked if Rhea Chakrabroty is the main accused, he said, “There are 33 people on the list and all of them are accused, besides, there are others too against whom the investigation is still going on.”
Post filing their extensive chargesheet, Zondal Director for NCB, Sameer Wankhere said, “Now that the chargesheet has been filed, the trial of the case will start.”
In September 2020, Rhea Chakrabroty was arrested by the NCB in connection to the drugs case and after a month of questioning, she was let out on bail. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had reportedly shared several chats from Rhea’s mobile phone with the NCB, which involved mention of drugs. This probe led to the involvement of the NCB and an investigation into the drugs angle was initiated.
