On the name of spy-thriller genre film Ulajh starring was just a normal story which tries hard to keep the thrill real but doesn't really succeeds in terms of putting the best output on the screen. Janhvi Kapoor on the other hand puts her career best performance on the acting front. She carries the film on her shoulders with the atmost strength and passion.
Directed by Sudhanshu Saria & Co-written by Parveez Shaikh & Sudhanshu Saria the good thing about the movie is its unique from the other spy-thriller or special forces movies. It doesn't give same old vibes with done n dusted storylines. Though the thriller part of the film is really undergrown & too predictable.
On the acting front, as said earlier Janhvi is the lone warrier. Gulshan Devaiah too nails his multi faced character of Humayun but we still expect the energy, intent & passion he delivered in the Commando 3. His character from then and in Ulajh are quite similar & emit same vibes but Gulshan could have empressed more with the recent performance to noting it as his growth as an actor but again the setting of the film & character too is the reason for that.
With another musty Spy-thriller film, Bollywood makers really needs to rethink on the setting of this genre films as this particular genre is not delivering any fresh or iconic additions despite the kind of scope it has. If you are thinking to watch Ulajh, you can watch it for the amazing show Janhvi Kapoor and the cast has put forward but don't expect much from the story.
