Mohammad Siraj became first bowler to bowl two consecutive maiden overs in the history of IPL. Siraj took wickets of Rahul Tripathi, Nitish Rana and Tom Banton in the first two overs of his spell without giving a run. Also he is now the only bowler with two wicket-maiden overs in Indian Premier League.
First time in the IPL history a team bowled four maiden overs in an inning; two consecutive overs by Siraj, and each by Chris Morris and Washington Sundar. These Bangalore’s choked the batting line-up of Kolkata Knight Riders in all the 20 overs. As a result they reach up to 84 runs in 20 overs with 8 wickets. This is the lowest score in IPL without getting all out. Before this Mumbai Indians scored 94 runs off 8 wickets in 20 overs against Rajasthan Royals in 2011.
RCB bowlers bowled 20 overs with lowest economy rate; as Mohammad Siraj only gave 8 runs in 4 overs; Whereas Morris bowled with the economy of 4, same as Chahal and Washington Sundar.
Kolkata’s top 3 batsmen scored just two runs in first few overs. This is the second highest after CSK; in 2009 CSK choked Deccan charges Top-order and gave zero runs. Also in this match Kolkata’s batsmen couldn’t get a single runs in 72 balls, again second highest after Chennai Super Kings. Last year against same opponents(KKR), bowled 75 balls.
