Rajasthan Royals became the latest team to drop their new jersey ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The new jersey was officially revealed on the teams’ social media platforms through a video on Sunday. The Royals revealed their new jersey at their home ground, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur with a sound and light show.
The blue colour dominates the jersey with shades of pink on the collar and sleeve cuffs. The leaf patterns on the chest which were seen last year has been eliminated from the shirt. A new floral design has been added at the bottom of the shirt. Expo 2020 Dubai is the principal shirt sponsor in IPL 2021 for Rajasthan Royals.
The one-time IPL winner earlier teased the jersey with a clip featuring Sanju Samson. The jersey unveiling ceremony which took place in the Royals’ home ground was attended virtually by players and support staffs while staying in the bio-bubbles limits. The video which was uploaded on social media featured their skipper Samson, Jos Butler, Chris Morris and others.
The Royals will be playing their first IPL 2021 fixture against Punjab Kings on April 12 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Rajasthan Royals were the winners of the first-ever edition of the tournament in 2008, the team was captained by Shane Warne. The Royals finished last in the previous season and will surely want to have a better outcome in the upcoming edition under the captaincy of Samson.
