Bollywood star Karishma Kapoor and mother Babita Kapoor have sold their apartment located at Mumbai for Rs 10.11 crore, joining the list of huge personalities who are creating most of the cut in stamp duty and the consequent real estate boom in Mumbai.
Karishma sold a 10th-floor in Khar, Mumbai. The sale of the 1610 sqft falt was registered on 24th December. The star paid stamp duty for Rs 20.22 lakh.
The flat situated in Rose Queen, Khar West, has two car parking area and the buyer is Abha Damani.
Real Estate broker said the current rate of the flat is of this size is around Rs 55,000 per sq ft.
Ritesh Mehta, Senior Director and Head-West India, Residential Services, JLL India, said, “The apartment has been sold at market rate. New building in the area command as much as Rs 65,000 per sq ft and sea-view apartments can go as high as Rs 90,000 per sq ft.”
Previously, In 2018, Raja Hindustani star sold her 675 sq ft Apartment in Bandra for Rs 7 crore, 3.7 times more than the market price of 1.89 crores.
In recent months, Btown celebrities have registered new flats taking advantage of the stamp duty cut in Maharashtra.
Janhvi Kapoor purchased a property worth Rs 39 crore at Juhu, Mumbai. She took a home loan of Rs 23 crore from bank to buy the property.
In October 2020, Kaho Na Pyaar Hai actor, Hritik Roshan, bought two apartments, spread across three levels for 100 crores at Juhu-Varova Link Road, Mumbai. It had a personal elevator and 10 parking areas.
In November, Alia Bhatt bought a 2,460 sq ft at Bandra’s Pali Hill for 32 crores.
Properties worth around Rs 34,000 crore were sold in only Mumbai, many of them in the luxury segment, in December 2020.
