Manchester City will proceed into Sunday’s fixture on a confident note after winning the Premier League trophy for the third time in four years. They faced a narrow defeat against Chelsea on the previous Saturday which prevented them from clinching the trophy while Manchester United’s loss to Leicester City on Tuesday crowned them the champions.
In the head-to-head competition between the two teams, Newcastle United has the upper hand as they won 72 matches against Manchester City while they lost 71 games. In the last outing between the two teams which took place earlier this season, Manchester City came out victorious with 2-0.
Newcastle United will be missing out on the services of Callum Wilson, who’s been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to a hamstring problem. Ciaran Clark is available for selection ahead of Sunday’s game.
