For almost the past decade, Arvind Kejriwal's AAP has been in control. Anyways, the 2025 elections may pose a major challenge for the party, which was initially founded on an anti-corruption agenda. The BJP, which hasn't held power in Delhi since 1998, is struggling hard to regain control of the capital. Despite this, the party has struggled a lot to put up its dominance in Delhi's political scene.

Congress, the 3rd contender, lost power to Kejriwal in 2013 and has since faced difficulty staying relevant in the city's politics. Under Rahul Gandhi's rule, this party is determined to recover its lost ground. The AAP has dominated the political landscape for a decade, significantly due to its education and healthcare schemes, along with promises of free electricity and water, which have contributed to its victories in the last 2 elections with 67 and 62 seats, respectively.

"Even free bus rides for women have helped the party retain significant support among Delhi voters." However, both the BJP and Congress have now made similar promises, diminishing AAP's uniqueness in offering freebies. This party is also dealing with strong anti-incumbency sentiment, particularly in relation to developmental projects.
