Kapil Dev is the only cricket in the history of Test cricket to score over 5000 runs and take over 400 wickets. Dev scored 5128 runs and pocketed 434 wickets at an average of 29.64 in 131 Test matches.

Most Test Wickets By An Indian Seamer
In the year 1994, Kapil Dev surpassed Sir Richard Hadlee to become the leading wicket-taker in Test cricket. He grabbed 434 wickets with an average of 29.64 in 131 Tests. Even after 24 years of his retirement, Dev finds himself in the top ten leading wicket-taker of all time in Tests. The all-rounder is still the highest wicket-taking Indian seamer in Test cricket. Dev’s record of 434 Test wickets is only bettered by Anil Kumble.

Kapil Dev had a strike rate of 95.07 in ODI cricket. The all-rounder had the second-highest strike rate in the world (min. 1000 runs) only after Ian Smith during Dev’s 16-year old illustrious career.
