Manu Bhaker’s Pistol Shooting Team Coach Munkhbayar Dorjsuren
India’s Manu Bhaker made history by clinching two bronze medals at the Paris Olympics 2024. She secured her first bronze in the 10-meter Air Pistol Shooting event and later won another bronze in the 10-meter Air Pistol mixed team event with partner Sarabjot Singh. This success was not a first for Mongolia-born Munkhbayar Dorjsuren, who had previously guided Rahi Sarnobat to gold at the 2018 Asian Games. Dorjsuren became the foreign coach of the Indian national pistol shooting team at the 2022 ISSF World Cup in Changwon, Korea.
Her extensive Olympic experience was a key factor in her appointment. Born in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, Dorjsuren later moved to Germany and gained citizenship. She competed in the 25-meter and 10-meter air pistol events, boasting a distinguished career. She participated in six Summer Olympics, representing Mongolia in 1992, 1996, and 2000, winning a bronze medal in the women’s 25-meter pistol at the 1992 Olympics and the 1998 ISSF World Shooting Championship in the 10-meter air pistol. As a German citizen, Dorjsuren competed in the 2004, 2008, and 2012 Olympics. She won the 2002 ISSF World Shooting Championships in the 25-meter pistol and gold in the Milan leg of the 2009 ISSF World Cup in the same category.
