The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the Annual Players Contracts for the Indian team for the period from October 2020 to September 2021 on Thursday.
India’s star batsman Virat Kohli along with Rohit Sharma and the yorker specialist Jasprit Bumrah are the only three players to receive the A+ grade annual contract. The all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been promoted after a series of consistent performances in white-ball cricket. Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav have slipped from Grade B to Grade C. Bhuvneshvar Kumar have been demoted to B+ contract due to his frequent injuries. Shardul Thakur gets promoted with a B+ contract after his impressive all round performance in all formats. Kedar Jadhav and Manish Pandey didn’t receive a contract. Notable performances in the Aussie tour has handed a Grade C contract to Mohammed Siraj and Shubman Gill.
