WATCH VIDEO: Portion of Charminar Collapsed After Heavy Rainfall

Heavy rainfalls have thrashed Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana on Thursday. After rescuing citizens from scroching sun the heavy rains have also damaged the city's icon. A small stucco piece from the second level of one of Charminar's minarets collapsed due to the relentless rain.

Inspector of Charminar Police Station confirmed the incident, stating, as per PTI, “It's not significant damage." He also added that no casualties were reported.

The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) said that the collapsed section was a decorative stucco element and not a structural part of the monument. The fragile material and prolonged exposure to the elements contributed to the minor damage, they added.
